THETFORD BULLDOGS v DW BLUE

Dereham Wanderers Blues U10 maintained their top spot in the league with a comfortable win over bottom of the table Thetford Bulldogs. The squad included, Billy, Byron, Jordan, Ben, Reece, Josh B, Sam, Adam and Liam. Early on in the game, it was clear Dereham were the much stronger team. By half time, Dereham had a comfortable lead with Sam, Josh B (2) and Ben (2) scoring to give Dereham a half-time lead of 5-0. For the second half of the game, Billy, who had hardly had a shot to save, swapped positions with Liam and increased Dereham’s lead by scoring two well taken goals. Adam then came on as sub late on and with his very first touch he smashed the ball into the net after terrific build up play by the team. Dereham weren’t finished there though as Ben rounded off a great team performance by scoring Dereham’s ninth goal, and his hat-trick. Towards the end of the game the Bulldogs did finally put a little bit of pressure on Dereham’s defence, which resulted in them scoring a consolation goal towards the end. The win leaves Dereham still top of their league with just 2 games remaining. Final score Dereham Wanderers Blues 9 Bulldogs 1. Manager’s Man of the Match: Reece; Bulldogs’ Manager’s Man of the Match: Ben. Hat-trick hero: Ben Gordon.
