Dereham Wanderers Blues U10s returned to league action against Thetford Indies, eager to maintain their top position in the league. An early lead was established in the first quarter when Josh B slipped the ball past the Indies keeper. Dereham continued to dominate the first quarter but failed to add to the score sheet. In the second quarter Indies created more chances which eventually paid off with an equaliser. As the quarter came to an end, Adam put a brilliant through-ball to Ben who went past two Indies players and sent a powerful shot into the keeper's bottom left hand corner of the net making the score 2-1. In the third quarter Derehams' defenders, Byron and Jordan, worked hard top keep the Indies out. Finlay also made a couple of crucial saves to keep Dereham ahead. It was then that Dereham created their best goal of the game; Jordan passed to Josh S who passed to Ben who then layed the ball off beautifully to Josh B who finished off a brilliant move. As the quarter was coming to an end, Billy cleared the ball to Reece who bravely got the ball to Josh B who scored again for a well deserved hatrick. In the final quarter, Dereham controlled the ball well offering the Indies no further chances to claw back the deficit. Final score Dereham Wanderers Blues 4 Thetford Indies 1.
